KÍŽâµ™
The lived experience of a dark-skinned migrant in the Western World informs work that embodies fragmented layers of my existence. Having left Nigeria abruptly to come of age in the United States, I was confronted by radical and often violent displays of what is precious versus what is not. In adulthood, I arrive at a place of turmoil where my very existence feels conflicting. This feeling shimmies its way into work that interrogates notions of value and hierarchy.
